Boxing is fun and exhilarating. It develops confidence and balance. It doesn’t feel like your working out.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is fitness boxing?

Basically, I will teach you how to throw combinations of punches, foot work and evasive maneuvers. You will be hitting what are called target mitts.

I never took boxing lessons and in addition I am really out of shape. Will I be able to do it?

Absolutely. I haven’t had one client who wasn’t able to throw a few punches and they loved it. In addition, you are progressed according to your fitness level. I highly recommend boxing training because it gets you fit quickly and is fun.

How long are the boxing classes?

The sessions are 1 hour long although most people combine boxing with some traditional exercise.

Do I need to buy any equipment for a boxing workout?

No. I supply boxing gloves for men and women. If you want you can purchase your own boxing gloves and I can recommend a store.

Am I too old for fitness boxing?

There is no such thing as being too old for a fitness boxing lesson. I’ve given boxing lessons to men and women in their sixties, and they loved it.

I am 70 years old and I found Mark Darco to be the perfect trainer for my needs. He has been a life saver for both my wife and I during the pandemic. He is experienced, knowledgeable and patient. Do not procrastinate - call him now!

Mark Darco is a great personal trainer! I am not someone who particularly looks forward to exercise, but I find with Mark’s approach the time goes by fast and I can feel that over the six months I have been training with him my balance has improved, I am stronger and more comfortable in my body. In his approach he is careful, thoughtful and systematic.

Mark is the best! He’s thoughtful and personalized every workout to how I was feeling each day and always had my goals in mind. He thinks both long and short term, is courteous, flexible and just a joy to work out with.

Mark and I have worked together for a couple months now. I found him to be surprisingly affordable and REALLY effective. At first, I had doubts that working with a trainer would really improve my physical condition (I had less satisfying results in the past with another trainer); suffice to say, those fears have been assuaged. I am the strongest I have ever been in my life, and I am losing the flab I (quite frighteningly) managed to acquire over the course of the last two years. Mark has twenty years of experience which manifests in not only a rock solid knowledge of the science behind muscle gain/fat loss, but a wonderful bedside manner. Whereas other trainers sadistically delight in pushing their clients to painful, unsustainable and even dangerous extremes, Mark focuses on the long game, prioritizing safety, form, and yes, keeping things challenging. I’ve seen him work with people of all ages and fitness goals (I’m relatively young and looking to be as muscular as possible, whereas I’ve seen him work with seniors just looking to keep fit and functional). I can’t really imagine someone looking for a trainer working with Mark and not being satisfied.

Mark is a wonderful personal trainer and an even better person. He was always willing to accommodate to my needs and schedule and was always available for questions or concerns I may have had. Mark will cater to the clients' every need, no matter their fitness level or health. He did wonders for me and I highly recommend you give him a call. Thank you Mark!

I'm about to turn 76, and have never felt as young as I do now from working out with Mark. He carefully tailors his workouts to your strength level and the progress you make.

Mark is a great trainer that I have worked with for years. He is always changing up the routine, and will change around workouts depending on your goals and your day. He's also particularly skilled at working with you if you have an injury or anything else that could limit you. He'll ensure you get a full workout, safely and effectively

No one was more surprised than me to find that I loved boxing. It’s surprisingly satisfying, effective and fun. At fifty I’m fitter and stronger than I was at thirty. I started boxing workouts and became a knock-out.
